A Long Island resident was killed Sunday in a fiery crash in the Nassau County hamlet of Baldwin, police said.
Gregory Blamir, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene after a 4 a.m. accident near the intersection of Kings Parkway and Grand Avenue, said Nassau County police.
Balmir's car crossed two lanes of traffic and then struck a utility pole on Grand Avenue, investigators said. The crash ignited a fire and the flaming vehicle crossed Kings Parkway and slammed into an unoccupied commercial building.
The burning car overturned and it came to rest against the building on Grand Avenue.
