The North Shore Animal League America in Long Island has launched a live video camera at its Port Washington shelter, hoping the images of the puppies and kittens there will attract loving potential owners.
The shelter's weekly UStream feed of its pet nursery airs live every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and features "beautiful and healthy" shelter puppies and kittens that need permanent homes, according to the organization.
"Viewers are treated to the joyful and entertaining footage of puppies and kittens playing, exploring and interacting with their mothers," said North Shore Animal League America in a press release.
"We hope that visitors who comes to the Animal League's Pet Nursery UStream feed are inspired to support our mission of saving as many animal lives as possible and making the responsible decision to adopt," added Joanne Yohannan, an official with the shelter.
