Jersey City is planning a Fourth of July festival and concert on Thursday ahead of the fireworks display on the Hudson River.
Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean and Funk Flex will headline the concert, which starts at 1 p.m. and continues with the headliners starting at 6:10 p.m., according to an announcement made on Monday. A street festival will kick off the festivities at noon with more than 80 local artisans and food vendors.
The event will take place at Hudson and Montgomery in Exchange Place.
Food vendors will include:
- Cold Stone Creamery
- Carinderia on wheels
- KBBQ Cupbob
- Holy Grail Burgers
- Alpine Creamery
- Cousins Maine Lobster
- Sweet Spot Donuts
- Viva Birria
- Angry Archies
- Ma & Pa’s Tex Mex
The celebration will end with viewing of the 9:25 p.m. fireworks on the Hudson River.

The city warns parking restrictions will begin in the area at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and continue through midnight Friday. Organizers are encouraging people to take public transportation, but a warning that the light rail at Exchange Place will be suspended during the event.
