If no one hits the record $1.5 billion jackpot in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, the pot will climb to an astonishing $2 billion, according to the Texas Lottery.
"If there are no winners for tonight’s $1.5 BILLION #Powerball jackpot, the jackpot for Saturday will be $2 BILLION!" the Texas Lottery tweeted Wednesday morning.
A single lucky winner of a $2 billion jackpot will clear a cash value of $1.24 billion, the Texas lottery said.
The potential numbers are a drastic increase from the current cash value of the jackpot. If a New Yorker wins the current pot, he or she will walk with a measely $579.4 million after taxes.
