The annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks spectacle will be held on the Hudson River Thursday for the first time in a decade, giving New Jerseyans a front-row seat to the extravaganza that illuminates the iconic New York City skyline.
Billed as a "one-of-a-kind" show, you can see it in the city at designated areas between 14th and 34th streets. Hoboken and Jersey City are tops for those on that side of the river.
For those who can't attend in person, NBC and Peacock are your streaming homes. The action kicks off Thursday, July 4 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. An encore presentation will follow at 10 p.m. on NBC. Watch 24/7 here.
The broadcast will highlight individuals across the nation who are championing sustainability, accessibility, visibility for underrepresented groups, artistic expression, and more.
In an effort to create a more inclusive experience for blind and visually impaired viewers, NBCUniversal is presenting the special with a live audio description on the Secondary Audio Program channel (SAP), provided by Descriptive Video Works. The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks has been a tradition since 1976. This year’s display will feature thousands of shells and an array of effects from barges positioned along the Hudson River with viewing points in Manhattan between West 14th and West 34th streets and in New Jersey, according to organizers.
