A Queens gang member was arrested after a traffic stop when cops discovered he was in possession of a bullet shell and a homemade pipe gun in St. Albans, police said.
David Cummings was arrested on Saturday, authorities said. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of possession of forged identification cards, unauthorized use of vehicle, false impersonation, improper license, and failure to obehy traffic device.
Officers observed the 28-year-old in a 2015 Nissan Altima with Massachusetts licence plates making an illegal turn near the corner of Belknap Street and Merrick Boulevard at around 9:45 p.m. Friday, authorities said. When the officers approached him and asked for identification, he provided a forged ID card.
Once Cummings was in custody, officers discovered two additional forged Ids, police said. Officers also found the shell of a Remington .410 revolver shell inside of a homemade pipe gun.
Cummings is a member of the Crips gang, according to authorities.
