A father, his teenage son and another man were rescued from a sinking boat off of Long Island Wednesday night, authorities said.
Suffolk County police and Coast Guards were called to a 30-foot powerboat about a mile south of Moriches Inlet after getting a distress call from the vessel about 5:20 p.m., according to authorities.
When police got on scene, they found the boat taking on water and quickly helped get 50-year-old Brian Buchrieser, his 14-year-old son and 49-year-old Vito Carnaza to safety.
All three were wearing life jackets and weren't injured.
