Fairway Market has opened its first store in New Jersey.
The grocery superstore was greeted by huge crowds as it officially opened its doors in Paramus.
Up until now, the store has only had outlets in Nw York City.
The store has created 350 new jobs at a time when New Jersey’s unemployment rate surpasses the national average of 8.2%.
Paramus has opened a half-dozen new, big name stores over the last month – from Target and Whole Foods to Nordstrom Rack.
All told, those retail stores brought 2,000 new jobs to the town, which boasts more shopping per square foot than any other place in the nation.
