Tuesday marks the finale of New York’s two-part primary election after voters previously cast their ballots in June for statewide races.
District voting for New York’s U.S. House and Senate races was delayed after a judge ordered the redrawing of political maps in the state.
The new congressional districts positioned two top Democrat incumbents, Rep. Carolyn Maloney and Rep. Jerry Nadler, as rivals in one of several hotly contested races, along with challenger Suraj Patel.
There's also New York's 10th District, where Congressman Mondaire Jones — who moved from his former district representing Rockland and Westchester counties — is running against city councilmembers Carlina Rivera and Yuh-Line Niou, along with Li Holtzman and JoAnn Simon in the crowded race. But the frontrunner may be Dan Goldman, a member of the Levi-Strauss family who made his own name as a prosecutor in the Trump impeachment trial.
North of the city, incumbent congressman Sean Patrick Maloney is trying to hold off a challenge from State Senator Alessandra Biaggi.
