The man, 23-year-old Terry Nathaniel, was pronounced dead at the scene after shots were fired at Lexington Avenue and East 122nd Street at about 2:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.
The other two men were taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center and are expected to survive.
Police say that Nathaniel was in the passenger's seat of a Honda Accord along with a 27-year-old driver when shots rang out. The third victim was a pedestrian standing nearby.
