Nearly two dozen people were arrested Wednesday in a massive drug and gun bust in Manhattan and the Bronx, officials said.
Police rounded up 22 men and women after a 20-month investigation into a crime ring that put heroin and PCP onto the streets of New York City over the last two years, officials said.
"As this case illustrates guns, narcotics and violence go hand in hand," said NYPD Deputy Chief Lori Pollock.
Many of those arrested have prior criminal records. At least one suspect told reporters outside a police precinct “I didn’t do nothing” on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said they seized drugs, weapons and hundreds of thousands of dollars during the raids.
