A man is dead following a double shooting that took place in Inwood Monday morning, police say.
The incident occurred inside a building on 10th Avenue near 207 Street. The location houses the the Floridita Restaurant and Bar on the first floor. It is unclear if the shooting took place in the establishment, however authorities could be seen coming in and out of the restaurant.
Police came upon the violent scene when they were responding to a 911 call they received around 4:50 a.m. reporting an assault. When they arrived at the location, they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso and a 58-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg, police say.
The man was subsequently taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police confirm.
The woman was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals / Harlem in stable condition.
The identities of the man and woman have not been made public.

Chopper 4 was over the scene -- which is close to the train station where the 1 line stops. Aerial images show police tape surrounding the perimeter of the area.
