Someone broke into a Long Island church and defaced the house of worship with graffiti referencing the devil and "witch spells," authorities say.
It's not clear when the person vandalized the East Meadow church, but police say it likely happened between 7 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday. Authorities say the vandal shattered the front glass door of New Covenant Church on Bellmore Avenue and spray painted graffiti on the outer walls.
Photos show phrases like "cursed devil" and "devil witch spells" scrawled all over the sides, doors and steps of the building, along with upside-down crosses, in reddish brown paint.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the First Squad at 516-573-7156.
