Jan. 19, 2010: Christie is sworn in as New Jersey's 55th governor.
June 2010: Asked in a televised interview about the possibility of a "President Christie," he said "it's not going to happen... I simply do not have the desire to do it, nor do I think I'm ready."
Nov. 5, 2010: Christie says "there is zero chance I will... I don’t feel like I’m ready to be president. I don’t want to run for president. I don’t have the fire in the belly to run for president. But, yet, everyone seems to think that I’ve left the door open a little bit. But I don’t – short of suicide, I don’t really know what I’d have to do to convince you people that I’m not running. I’m not running.”
January 2011: Christie says he will stay out of the race, citing his pledge to Garden State voters. “I have big things to accomplish here, and that does not include leaving and running for national office,” he said.
Feb. 23, 2010: Ann Curry asks Christie on "TODAY" whether he had formed a PAC, and he says he has not. "I haven't done it. I don't have any plans to do it."
May 9, 2011: Christie says he's "thrilled" by the presidential attention, but adds "I just don't want to do it."

June 24, 2011: Christie tells Matt Lauer on "TODAY that he wants to remain governor. "I'm not running for president. I care about the future of our country and I want us to have the best possible candidate in our party to run for president but it's not going to be me."
July 19, 2011: Christie tells a group of GOP donors in Manhattan that he is not interested in running next year, citing pledges he made to New Jersey voters and his responsibilities to his family.
Sept. 26, 2011: Christie reignites the presidential speculation ahead of a cross-country trip with appearances in Missouri, California and Louisiana.
Sept. 27, 2011: Christie tells supporters at the Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library that he is flattered by the repeated suggestions that he should run, but says he won't.
Sept. 29, 2011: Sources confirm to NBC New York that Christie is reconsidering his long-held promise not to run, citing the support he felt when he was traveling earlier in the week.
Oct. 4, 2011: Christie announces, for real this time, he is not running next year. "Now is not my time," he says.
