Police say a car veered out of control and struck a building in Queens in nearly the same spot as a similar crash last week.
Police say two people were injured in Wednesday's crash.
They say the driver lost control of his 2006 Volkswagen Jetta as he came off the Queensboro Bridge and struck a building. The 39-year-old driver was later arrested for operating a vehicle without a license.
Fire officials say the driver suffered a partially severed arm and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. He was listed in stable condition. The front seat passenger, a 40-year-old woman, suffered severe head trauma and also was hospitalized. She is listed in critical condition.
The accident occurred at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charges are pending.
On March 28, a car exiting the bridge crashed into the same row of stores. A 68-year-old taxi driver standing on the sidewalk was killed, and the driver in that crash also lost his arm.
