The family of a Brooklyn teen whose body was found naked on a Brooklyn beach after she went missing is pleading for information about her death.

Law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York that the body found in Gerritsen Beach on Sunday was Shaniesha Forbes, 14, who had been missing since Friday.

Kerri-Ann Thomas, a family spokeswoman, said Wednesday that relatives are desperate for help to figure out what happened.

"We are asking anyone, if you know anything, please say something. Any minor detail. Anything can be that final piece that we need to figure out who did this ... Do not let her story go untold," Thomas said.

Forbes had burns on her legs, arms and hands and was found face up on the beach. A law enforcement official tells NBC 4 New York that investigators also located a kerosene can and signs of a bonfire nearby.

The cause of death is still pending.
