Four teenagers were shot in a park in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn Monday night, police say.
Police said a male on a bicycle fired shots at a group of people near the Fish Playground at Thomas Boyland and Herkimer streets at about 6:30 p.m., then fled.
Two 16-year-old boys were shot in the arm, a 13-girl old girl was grazed in the back and an 18-year-old man was grazed in the lower shoulder, police said. They were taken to Brookdale and Interfaith hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Cynthia Green, who witnessed the chaos unfold from a nearby cafe where she was working, said frightened parents grabbed their children and ran when they heard the shots.
"This young man in the park ran in, telling us, 'Oh, my God, he's shooting at us,'" said Green. "He was out of breath. He was buckled over."
The motive is unclear, and police are still searching for the shooter. But already shaken from a nearby July 29 shooting in which six people, including a toddler, were injured, neighbors say they're fed up with the violence.
"This has become the hotbed for the stupidity, what we are calling ground zero," said community advocate Tony Herbert. "It has to stop."

Herbert said he wants the city to impose harsher gun control laws.
"We have to send a message," he said. "Clearly, the gun laws are not working. Two years on gun possession doesn't send a message."
