A 22-year-old deliveryman on a moped died after being hit by a car and dragged for nearly half a block early Saturday, police say.
Elvis Batista-Francisco was driving home from work on Arlington Avenue near Hyland Place in Cypress Hills when a dark blue Nissan sedan hit him before speeding off, according to officials.
No one has been arrested in Batista-Francisco's death, police say.
He was a student who had just moved from the Dominican Republic a year ago, according to his cousin Juan Batista. This week, he was set to head back to visit his mother.
"He just wanted to make his mom happy," Batista said. "He told me hadn't seen his mom and he wants to see her."
