Police are looking for the man who was caught on camera shooting a 37-year-old Bronx bodega customer several times at close range and whipping him in the face with his gun at the store over the weekend.
The customer and shooter were talking inside the store on Webster Avenue in Claremont early Saturday when the suspect pulled out a silver handgun and opened fire, police say.
Surveillance footage from the store shows the customer trying to run away as the suspect fires several shots, hitting the man in the body. The customer falls to the ground, and the suspect walks up and fires several more shots before hitting the victim in the face with the gun.
Afterward, the suspect is seen leaving the store. Several other people step over the victim as they walk out of the bodega.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition, police say.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
