A beheaded goat and several other dead animals have been found in plastic bags near a New York reservoir.
The Westchester County SPCA is investigating.
Ernest Lungaro, director of the agency's law enforcement unit, says the bags were found Monday at a Yorktown intersection by officers of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
The city owns and patrols the nearby New Croton Reservoir.
Lungaro says that birds and other animals were found in the bags in addition to the goat. Many of those animals were beheaded as well.
The Westchester SPCA is still investigating the killing of 25 cats found in bags hanging from trees in Yonkers in April. Spokeswoman Lisa Bonanno said Tuesday that no arrests have been made.
