Police say they're investigating after a man was shot and killed in a barbershop in the Bronx Tuesday evening.
Julio Lebron was shot inside Believe Beauty Spa on Tremont Avenue in West Farms at about 6 p.m., police said. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.
Police sources say the 29-year-old Lebron went to the salon earlier in the day demanding money from the owner. The two exhanged blows.
The man left, promising to return, and when he did, he brought two men and again demanded money, sources said. But with the owner nowhere in sight, someone opened fire and hit Lebron multiple times.
It's not clear who the gunman is.
A former employee at the salon told NBC 4 New York she quit because of the fighting that regularly broke out there.
