Subway commuters should expect more delays and service changes on several lines for the Wednesday morning commute after a day laden with delays, service changes and a track fire at Rockefeller Center.
The MTA said the delays and service changes along the B/D/F/M line Wednesday are due to priority track maintenance in between Seventh Avenue-53rd Street and 47-50 streets-Rockefeller Center. Rockefeller Center was also the site of a track fire Wednesday that filled the station's concourse with smoke in the early afternoon.
There was no B train service in both directions between Bedford Park Boulevard and Brighton Beach, which is the entire line, for about an hour Wednesday morning. But service on the line was restored just before 6:30 a.m.
B line riders should expect to see some service changes throughout the morning, with some trains being rerouted along the C, F and Q lines in Manhattan.
D and F trains were also rerouted on Wednesday morning but appeared to be running on their regular routes with some delays by 8:30 a.m.
