Arrest in Attack That Caused Brooklyn Man to Lose Eye

Dru Barnes, a musician, has to go through multiple surgeries for his injuries

Police say they have arrested a suspect for a vicious attack that left a Brooklyn man blind in one eye.

Clifford Price, 44, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault for allegedly hitting a man in the face and neck with a hammer on July 11, authorities said.

Dru Barnes, a musician, was walking home to Fort Greene from a friend's house in Bedford-Stuyvesant last week when he got lost, he said. Police believe the attacker followed him for a block before he struck, hitting Barnes in the eye.

Barnes has said he doesn't know what motivated the attack.

Barnes said earlier this week that he's relying on his Buddhist faith to get him through the multiple surgeries that are ahead.
