An explosion at a Brooklyn apartment Saturday morning blew a hole in a building and injured four people, fire officials said.
Police said a gas leak may have caused the explosion a little after 8 a.m. on Bay Street in Gravesend. Firefighters said a fire from the blast was contained within an hour.
Several neighbors said they not only heard the explosion, but felt it.
"It was really loud man, you have no idea," said Ricky Rivera, who lives across the street.
Firefighters said one person was taken to a hospital. The three other people injured refused medical treatment.
A large window on the second story of the building was blown out and part of the brick facade outside had been ripped apart in the blast. The inside of the damaged apartment was visible from the debris-strewn street below. The explosion also damaged a white pick-up truck parked outside.

National Grid workers were at the scene fixing any possible gas issues. Meanwhile, neighbors were thankful it wasn't worse. Rivera, still shaken Saturday afternoon, said he thought it was a bomb.
"I'm telling you it was big, man. It was loud. It was really, really loud," he said.
