An Italian teenager suffering from an unknown neurological disorder has arrived in the US with Pope Francis’ blessing.
Claudia di Gregorio touched down at Newark Airport Saturday. Earlier this week she met with Pope Francis, who requested medical assistance for her condition.
Di Gregorio and her father were flown to the US as part of the Operations Kids program, run by the National Police Defense Foundation in New Jersey.
The 16-year-old will undergo tests for her illness and the National Institute of Health will provide her examinations and treatments free of charge.
