Adam Kuperstein is an Emmy® Award-winning journalist who anchors NBC 4 New York’s 6 PM and 11 PM weekend newscasts. During the week, he also covers breaking news around the Tri-State area as a general assignment reporter.
Kuperstein was one of the first Tri-State television reporters to arrive in Parkland, Florida and provide live updates following the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He later travelled to Washington, D.C. to deliver live coverage of the massive “March for our Lives” rally.
In the aftermath of the October, 2018 shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Kuperstein travelled to the Steel City and delivered several days of live updates on the police response and community impact. He also covered the City’s official memorial service and interviewed numerous religious and political leaders representing the Tri-State area.
Kuperstein has also provided lead coverage on a host of other high-profile stories for NBC 4 New York viewers, including Hurricane Irma, the deadly Trump Tower inferno and the 2018 elections.
Prior to joining NBC 4 New York, Kuperstein served as weekday news and sports anchor for NBC 6 / WTVJ for more than a decade. During his time at NBC 6, Kuperstein covered various major news stories impacting South Florida including multiple Presidential elections and the 2012 Presidential Debate at Lynn University. He also led NBC 6’s sports coverage and reported from the 2016 Rio Olympics, in addition to covering the Miami Heat’s three NBA championships. In 2017, Kuperstein led NBC 6’s coverage of the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Marlins Park.
Before arriving in South Florida, Kuperstein was the weekend sports anchor for Fox affiliate WUPW-TV in Toledo, Ohio. He also served as weekend sports anchor for WHIZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Zanesville, Ohio.
Kuperstein is a graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Finance. He resides with his family in Manhattan.
