Target is opening another store in Manhattan — and it’s hiring dozens of employees.
The retailer plans to open a new “small-format” store in Kips Bay, at the corner of East 29th Street and 2nd Avenue, on April 7, it said Tuesday.
The store will hire around 80 employees to staff up the new location, according to the retailer. Job fairs for the positions will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 8 and Feb. 13 at 511 W. 25th St. in Chelsea, and prospective employees can apply for the jobs on Target’s website.
The new store will be the fifth small-format Target to open in Manhattan, the retailer said.
“Nationwide, Target has prioritized opening small-format stores to serve guests in urban areas, dense suburban neighborhoods and near college campuses — areas where a full-size Target typically wouldn’t fit,” it said in a release.
