NJ Family Gains Custody of Slain Woman's Children

The family of a woman shot to death in a plot allegedly hatched by her husband will be allowed to raise the couple's two boys.

An attorney for the family of Nazish Noorani tells The Star-Ledger that her family has won custody of 3-year-old Shayaan and 6-year-old Riyaan.

The children's father, Kashif Parvaiz of New York, and his alleged accomplice, Antionette Stephen of Massachusetts, face murder, conspiracy and weapons charges in Noorani's killing.

They have both pleaded not guilty and remain in custody.

The 27-year-old Noorani was shot last August while walking with Parvaiz in the New Jersey suburb of Boonton where her family lives.

The Nooranis will have full custody of the boys starting Sept. 1. They will live with relatives in Boonton.
