2 Teens in Stolen SUV Die in Mangled Wreck That Sent Vehicles Into NJ Home

Two teenagers died after a serious crash in New Jersey involving a stolen SUV, at least two other cars, a house and two light poles, authorities say.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday when two vehicles crashed at the corner of Bergen Street and Madison Avenue in Newark, authorities say. The two cars then struck a parked car, careened into a house and hit two light poles in the process before bursting into flames, police said.

Quadre Robinson, 17, and Quayim Battle, 19, were pronounced dead at the scene.

No one inside the house was injured.

Authorities say the SUV was stolen in Elizabeth, but further details about the theft were not disclosed, the Associated Press reports.

Chopper 4 was first over the scene and showed two mangled cars and damage to the house.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police are investigating.
