Eight people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries — including five students — after a car hit a school bus in Newark, police said.
The vehicle hit the bus, which had five students on board, near Seymour Avenue and West Runyon Street around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, Newark police said.
The students, the bus driver and a bus aide were taken to University Hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The driver of the car that hit the bus was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
It wasn't immediately clear what injuries were sustained or what caused the crash.
The crash is under investigation, according to police.
