Four men were killed in separate shootings overnight in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, police said Saturday.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of an assault at 109th Street in the Upper West Side and found a 48-year-old Damian Ramirez with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Ramirez, of New Milford, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital, police said.
In Queens, Mohale Ralekhetho, 39, was found shot to death in a Mercedes parked in front of his home at about 4:30 a.m., police said. He had been shot in the head and torso, police said.
A 33-year-old man who was also in the car on 207th Street in Jamaica wasn't injured, police said.
In Crown Heights, police found a 32-year-old man, John Barnes, who had been shot in the head, the NYPD said. He was on the ground near his home at St. John's Place and Schenectady Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
Just before midnight in Bedford-Stuyvesant, someone open fired on a group of friends in a parking lot at the Breevort Houses, police said. A 24-year-old man was shot several times, including in the leg and groin, and succumbed to his injuries at Kings County Hospital, police said.
According to the NYPD, there had been 267 homicides in the city from Jan. 1 through Dec. 10. That is 16 percent lower than the same period in 2016.
