The NYPD has a new top cop. New York City Sanitation Commissioner Jessica Tisch will now head the nation’s largest and one of the oldest police departments. In the 179-year history of the storied police force, she will be the second woman ever to serve as commissioner. So what made Mayor Eric Adams choose Tisch? NBC New York’s Marc Santia reports.
