Hotel workers rally to block ‘Safe Hotels Act' at City Hall
Opposing rallies were held on Wednesday as city lawmakers held a public hearing on the Safe Hotels Act. The bill would require the installation of panic buttons, annual licenses and limits to subcontracting. Opponents argue it will increase rates and possibly cause some hotels to run out of business.
