Central Park traffic: How safe is it to walk or run in the park?
Anyone taking a walk in Central Park is bound to encounter bikes, scooters, runners, horse-drawn carriages and even pedicabs, most of whom often don’t fully pay attention to the traffic lights. The park drive has been closed to car traffic for nearly a decade — but is it safe? A year-long study looked into how people use the drives and what’s being proposed to fix the safety problems.
