Family members were mourning the shooting of a 9-year-old boy in Newark following a shooting that also injured an adult man. NBC New York’s Jessica Cunnington reports.
A reward has been offered in the shooting death of a 9-year-old boy in Newark, county officials announced early Saturday.
The night before, officials said a 9-year-old boy had been shot and killed outside a home on Osborne Terrace. The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m.
A 36-year-old man was also injured in the shooting, but details of his condition and how he was shot were not known.

As of Saturday morning, there was no information about a possible suspect or how the young boy had been shot.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said a $10,000 was being offered for information leading to an arrest.
