Alleged Lucchese crime family betting ring busted in New Jersey

New Jersey state police said they broke up a gambling ring in North Jersey that nabbed 39 people in connection with the alleged Lucchese crime family racket. Among those charged was George Zappola, said to be a ruling panel member of the mob family. Prospect Park Councilmember Anand Shah was arrested as part of the investigation after allegedly running illegal sportsbooks out of his local business.
