Parsons Artisan Project for LVMH to Display on Governor's Island

Earlier this year, LVMH tasked teams of Parsons students to create fashion ensembles and films based on the work of local artisans with whom they were paired, as part of "The Art of Craftsmanship Revisited: New York" and now, their final projects will be displayed on Governor's Island, starting June 5th.

The 120 students involved worked with 233 local artisans to produce a medley of works, which will be presented as art installations throughout Nolan Park historic houses on the 172-acre landmark island.

First glimpse of the work will be available at the May 26th press conference, where they'll be unveiled. The collections will be judged by LVMH Inc. chairman Renaud Dutreil, Parsons dean Joel Towers, designer Prabal Gurung, the Museum of Art & Design’s chief curator David McFadden, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and filmmaker David Turnley, and "it" girl Fabiola Beracasa.  The exhibition will be on display every weekend from June 5th through June 27th.
