Designer Daphne Guinness purchased Isabella Blow's entire Alexander McQueen collection, so it won't be going up for auction at Christie's this fall as had been planned.
The New York Times' T Magazine relayed Guinness' reasoning behind snatching up the late fashion fixture's McQueen pieces: she felt that the extensive and deeply personal (Blow and McQueen, both now deceased, were very close longtime friends) collection "should not be scattered to the four winds".
Guinness invested in this sentiment by taking hold of the collection in its entirety - no word on what she plans to do with it beyond safekeeping, but in a way, we're just glad to hear the family stayed intact, so to speak.
