Critics have alleged it in the past, but a judge is set to deliver the final verdict on whether “Jersey Shore” starlet Snooki is indeed criminally annoying.
An attorney for Nicole "Snooki'' Polizzi, the tanned and tiny MTV reality star, entered innocent pleas on her behalf to three charges in court Wednesday, including a new "annoying" count.
Polizzi, who did not attend Wednesday's municipal court hearing in Seaside Heights, was arrested last month and charged with disorderly conduct and creating a public nuisance. Following a few hours of jail time, she was released on a summons.
During Wednesday’s hearing, prosecutors said Polizzi also would face an additional charge of annoying people at the beach in the New Jersey town where the MTV reality show is based. Her trial is scheduled for Sept. 8.
If Polizzi were convicted on all charges, she would face about $500 in fines, but no jail time, according to E! News.
Following the arrest, Polizzi told MTV News she was “too pretty” for jail and did not understand why “people are taking it so seriously.”
"I had a couple cocktails and they just put me in a drunk tank to sober me up. I was on the beach,” she said. “It happens to the best of us, and I'm not planning on going back to jail ever again. I was a public nuisance — big deal!"
MTV declined comment to The Associated Press on the arrest, which came one day after the premiere of the show's second season.
"Jersey Shore" focuses on the escapades of a group of hard-partying, 20-something alleged Italian-Americans at a shore house.
