Phone Pole Crash Causes Fiery Explosion at Rutgers Campus
A downed telephone pole caused a fiery explosion at a Rutgers University campus Thursday that was caught on camera. New Brunswick police said a truck struck the pole about 10:30 a.m. at the Cook campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey, causing it to collapse. The transformer that sat on top of the pole then exploded on the ground. Video shows the transformer on the ground near a body of water, periodically sparking and then erupting into small explosions.
