Jake Gyllenhaal Shows Brotherly Love for Sis Maggie

Jake Gyllenhaal recently showed his brotherly love for sis Maggie and said he'll always be there for his older sibling.

Speaking from a director's chair on stage at the SVA Theater in Chelsea during The New Yorker Festival Saturday night, the hunky actor said he was in the middle of shooting a film but rushed to be by his sister's side when she was nominated for an Academy Award for "Crazy Heart" earlier this year.

"Had I missed out on that moment that would have been awful," Gyllenhaal said. "I got no sleep and was a cranky person, but I was there and that was what mattered to me."

He added, "Anyway, I love her a lot."

The actor, whose latest film "Love and Other Drugs" with Anne Hathaway is out next month, didn't rule out the possibility of a silver screen reunion for the siblings, but said the timing and the project had to be right.

"I think it would just take something where either there’s something that I love so much that meant so much to me, and I cared so much and, regardless the size of the role, she would want to be, I would need her to be, a part of. And vice versa," he said.

"We don't go around, 'Oh, let's look for something to work on,' you know?" he said.
