Comic Reggie Watts Hits Central Park

Comedic Wattage: Oddball comic Reggie Watts has ad-libbed, looped and sung his way into the hearts of everyone from Conan O'Brien to James Murphy (those Irish love their soulful standups), but don't hold his insider's appeal against him. Dude is seriously funny. Tonight he brings his bizarre act to SummerStage. Free. 7:30 p.m.

Checkmate: Find out why whiz kid Bobby Fischer lost his marbles after beating the Evil Empire's best at chess. Museum of the Moving Image screens acclaimed Fischer doc "Bobby Fischer Against the World," then follows up the flick with a discussion between The New York Times chess columnist (yep, they've got one of those) Dylan McClain and Fischer biographer Frank Brady. Tickets are $15 here. 7 p.m.

Deep Fried Funk: Galactic might feel like a jam band leftover from your musically uninformed college years, but the New Orlean's jazz outfit is far too funky to get lumped together with limp rock purveyors like Phish and Widespread. Give the band another shot at Brooklyn Bowl, where they'll be riffing through tunes of their celebrated new album YA-KA-MAY. $25 tickets at the door while they last. Doors at 6 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every afternoon by peeping Play's Dance Card.
