An Aphrodisiac Dinner Before Valentine's Day

"The Art of Eating In" author serves it up for singles. Oysters! Beef cheeks!

Cathy Erway -- the pen behind the soon-to-be-released “Art of Eating In” (Gotham, February 18), which grew out of her blog devoted to cooking at home in the most tempting dine-out city on earth, Not Eating Out in NY -- wants to make sure everybody’s getting some this Valentine’s day, even the singletons.

So she’s designed a five-course aphrodisiac menu to serve up this Thursday at one of our favorite food-inclined watering holes, Jimmy’s No. 43. The menu:

Oysters on the shell

Risotto with spelt, arugula, pinenuts and basil

Braised beef cheeks with pomegranate and butternut mash

Spiced fennel salad

Almond pudding with amaretto crumbs

After dinner, when you’re all hopped up on these foods’ aphrodisiac properties and can barely keep your paws off each other, Cathy will read from her book.
