Three brothers from California are New York's best street chefs -- as in, cart vendors.
They faced four others in an intense cook-off for the Vendy Award -- held Saturday under the Brooklyn Bridge.
The nonprofit Urban Justice Center, which sponsors the award, crowned Jesse, Brian and Dave Vendley, whose Calexico cart in SoHo offers California-style Mexican food.
The other four finalists serve meat and cheese pupusas from El Salvador, Middle Eastern falafel, spicy Indian biryani and Jamaican fusion food.
The award is a fundraiser for the Justice Center's Street Vendor Project, which fights for the rights of the city's thousands of sidewalk vendors.
