Magnolia Bakery has high hopes for its cannabis-infused treats and is expanding to finally sell them in New York.
For about a year, the Manhattan-based bakery has sold its edibles outside of New York: in Illinois, Nevada and Massachusetts. Incredibles, a company that makes handcrafted sweets infused with cannabis, teamed up with Magnolia as it created THC versions of its desserts.
Two of the most recognizable treats from Magnolia — their banana pudding and red velvet cupcakes — will serve as inspirations for the marijuana-infused chocolate bars being offered.
The "swirled famous banana pudding bar" features vanilla pudding, vanilla cookies and freeze-dried bananas, while the red velvet "piece ahh cake" bar includes "flavors of moist crimson cake, cream cheese tang and rich dark chocolate," according to Green Thumb Industries Inc., which owns the incredibles brand.

The cannabis-infused goodies will be available for customers 21 years old and over at Rise Dispensaries in New York starting the week of Oct. 20; they will not be sold at Magnolia Bakery locations. The items will be available online via incredibles' website by the end of October. The THC treats will be available at dispensaries in New Jersey and other states soon after.
“For months, our loyal customers have asked, ‘When will your collaboration with incredibles be available in New York?’ Today, we can finally say that these fan-favorite bars can be purchased in our home state of New York, as well as 23 other markets,” said Sara Gramling, Vice President PR and Partnerships at Magnolia Bakery. “Through incredibles’ online storefront and local delivery, even more customers nationwide will be able to experience the iconic flavors of Magnolia Bakery in a new way, delivered right to their doorstep.”
EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of the story did not clarify that the cannabis-infused items were only being sold at RISE Dispensaries and on the incredibles website, not at Magnolia Bakery locations. It has since been adjusted.
