Chris Jose is an Emmy® Award-winning reporter for NBC 4 New York.
Prior to joining WNBC-TV in April 2022, Jose was a reporter for WSB-TV in Atlanta where he covered some of the southeast’s biggest stories including the metro Atlanta spa shootings. He delivered continuous live updates during hurricanes and tornado outbreaks, and consistently landed exclusives on high-profile crime cases. Before moving to Atlanta, he worked at KXAS-TV in Dallas, Texas, KDVR-TV in Denver, Colorado and KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He got his start in local television at KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Throughout his career, Jose has contributed to many national live reports including the 2012 Aurora Theater shooting in Colorado, the 2016 Dallas police attack, the historic Colorado wildfires and President Trump’s immigration ban on Muslim countries. He has also covered several national sports championships including a World Series, the College Football National Championship and a Super Bowl.
Jose is a graduate of Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the tri-state area with his wife and twin children and is an active member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
