Now you can smell of “freshly baked, hand-tossed dough” thanks to Pizza Hut’s newest product: pizza perfume.
It began as a joke on the company’s Facebook page in August when Pizza Hut Canada’s marketing firm, Grip Ltd., published a post about bottling the pizza chain’s scent, Business Insider reported. Thousands of fans commented asking where they could purchase the fragrance prompting Pizza Hut to actually make it.
The limited-edition perfume features subtle notes of freshly baked dough and seasoning, a Pizza Hut spokesperson told Business Insider. It was awarded to fans who were among the first to comment on the original Facebook post.
Though only about 100 bottles were produced, there is a chance the perfume could be sold in stores eventually, the company said.
This isn’t the first time a chain restaurant has tried to break into the perfume business. Burger King did it in 2008 with its Flame by BK body spray for men, which smelled like grilled meat, according to The Guardian.
