Authorities say the woman who died while taking photos at a Northern California waterfall is from the Bay Area.
The North Tahoe Fire Protection District says firefighters recovered the young woman's body Friday at Eagle Falls overlooking Lake Tahoe. Investigators believe she lost her footing while taking photos and slipped.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as 35-year-old Dina Espinosa. Authorities did not immediately say where exactly in the Bay Area Espinosa lived.
The district says in a statement that the tragedy "is a sad reminder to be cautious when taking selfies and other photos in dangerous areas."
