A train fire shut down multiple New Jersey train tracks Monday morning.
The fire broke out in the engine car of a Northeast Corridor train at Princeton Junction Station, heading to Penn Station, at about 10:20 a.m., New Jersey Transit said.
The fire caused heavy smoke conditions, but was contained to the engine.
There were about 300 passengers and crew on board. None were injured and all were safely taken off the train.
Train traffic was briefly suspended in both directions between Trenton and Metropark due to the fire, but trains were moving again by 11:05 p.m. with up to 30-minute delays. Eastbound trains were bypassing Hamilton and Princeton Junctions.
