A 26-year-old woman was raped early Saturday morning on the front stoop of a Manhattan apartment building, New York City police said.
The woman told police she was walking home at about 5 a.m. when she was grabbed from behind near the intersection of Cathedral Parkway and Manhattan Avenue on the Upper West Side. She said she was then thrown onto a nearby stoop and assaulted.
The suspect, described as a man between 20 and 25 years old with brown hair, fled on a bicycle after the attack, police said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was in stable condition, investigators said.
